CONCEALED CARRY
Focus: North Carolina law governing the use of deadly force. The course will also cover safe handling of firearms, parts of a pistol, functions of a pistol, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge, proper and safe storage, maintenance, fundamentals of pistol shooting, shooting range safety, and marksmanship.
EMERGENCY FIRST-AID FUNDAMENTALS
Focus: If the time ever comes, you’ll be able to take meaningful action by learning the basic first aid and lifesaving techniques taught in this course. Courses covered are: Patient assessment, traumatic emergencies, medical emergencies, and building your own first-aid kit.
*At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of completion from Alpha Sierra Training, USCCA, and a Red Cross certification in Adult & Pediatric First-Aid, CPR and AED.
ADULT and PEDIATRIC CPR/AED/FIRST-AID TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
Focus: The 2021 Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults children and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.
PISTOL
Focus: Safe handling of firearms, parts of a pistol, functions of a pistol, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge, pistol selection and storage, inspection and maintenance, fundamentals of pistol shooting, shooting range safety, and marksmanship.
INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED PISTOL
Focus: Marksmanship improvement, one handed shooting, reloads, malfunctions, moving to and from cover positions, and shooting from cover. This course is not recommended for those who have not attended a basic pistol program. This training is designed for individuals who want to improve their skills while carrying a pistol. This is a shooting course that requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, present your pistol from a holster, shoot on the move, move into and recover quickly from the kneeling and prone positions.
Prerequisite: Attended a basic firearms course and possess safe gun handling skills.
RANGE SAFETY OFFICER
The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
RIFLE
Focus: Safe handling of shotguns, parts of a rifle, functions of a rifle, proper operation of bolt-action, semi-automatic, lever-action, slide-action, falling block, rolling block, and hinge-action rifles, ammunition knowledge, rifle selection and storage, inspection and maintenance, fundamentals of rifle shooting, shooting range safety, and marksmanship.
SHOTGUN
Focus: Safe handling of shotguns, parts of a shotgun, functions of a shotgun, proper operation of pump-action, semi-automatic and hinge-action shotguns, ammunition knowledge, shotgun selection and storage, inspection and maintenance, fundamentals of shotgun shooting, shooting range safety, and marksmanship.
DEFENSIVE PISTOL
Focus: The NRA Defensive Pistol course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. This course will cover Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm; basic principles of concealment; the difference between cover and concealment; drawing from the holster; levels of mental awareness; developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection; clearing common stoppages; use of pocket pistols; and more. Students will receive NRA Defensive Pistol certificate. This course is only conducted by NRA certified Advanced Pistol Instructors.
PERSONAL PROTECTION INSIDE THE HOME
Focus: This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. Prerequisite: This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm). Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.
PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME
